About

BACKGROUND

In 2009, The President of Uganda, HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, launched a new strategic national program to “Inculcate Norms &Values of patriotism in students & youth in all secondary schools”. Subsequently, Patriotism Clubs were established in Secondary schools all over the country. The launching of these patriotism clubs in secondary schools was intended to nurture new generations of Ugandans with new, positive attitudes;

  • to their country
  • to themselves and
  • to work

the program aims at encouraging students and teachers to become a new breed of enlightened citizens, committed to national service among other objectives. The President directed teachers to train the students to observe six points in order to secure their lives as individuals, namely:

  • Concentrate on their studies so that they lead them to academic excellence and acquiring of a profession or skill that is marketable on job market.
  • To read their Bible or Qur’an to be near to God and develop their spirituality.
  • Do sports and exercises so as to keep fit & usefully dissipate their youthful energy to remain healthy.
  • Help their parents with homestead work or any other work during holidays.
  • When time comes, develop a family with a reliable, dependable, loving and considerate partner.
  • Develop patriotism in them through patriotic studies.

    We need to love our country because there isnt any body who will love her for us.Even those outsiders who pretend to love us,their true colours have been revealed in enforcing wicked idiosyncracies.Ugandans be steady.uzalendo ni muhimu sana katika maendeleo ya Jumuiya ya Afrika Mashariki.

    I have today rejuvenated our school patriotism club as we look forward to being more active than ever before. I have dedicated every Friday to be our patriotism day at Aisha Girls’ High school in Isingiro District.

    As a Patriotism Corps who trained in Gulu District, I feel much concerned that our girls in this school must gain much from the rich experience i got during the training.

    However the secretariat should now ensure that those teachers who have undergone the training are always refreshed at may be regional level to keep live with the spirit of patriotism

    Am very happy wiz H.E Y K Museven for the launching of patriotism clubs in the country.In the areas/schools where it has reached, students know whats all about their country especially the fundamental problems that the country is facing like poor infrastructure, political instabilities,financial problems etc.This is done through attending lectures during patriotism training
